O'Fallon, IL (KSDK) - The St. Clair County State's Attorney's Office charged two 18-year-old Metro East men for allegedly breaking into a gun store last month and stealing more than a dozen weapons and computer equipment, the O'Fallon Police Department said Wednesday.

According to Captain Jeff Wild, a police spokesman, the department released surveillance photos of two suspects on October 29 from burglaries at Ron and Jo's Firearms and Tee Time Lawn Care. Investigators received an anonymous tip later that evening leading to the identification of two suspects: Luke Scaggs of Collinsville and Justin Wegner of O'Fallon, Illinois.

O'Fallon police, the ATF and Illinois State Police, launched a joint investigation and were successful in locating Scaggs and Wegner, as well as recovering the 13 stolen guns and 2 stolen laptops.

Both Luke Scaggs and Justin Wegner were charged with two counts of burglary and sent to St. Clair County Jail on $50,000 bond. The U.S. Attorney of Southern Illinois issued federal warrants against the two for stealing from a federal firearms licensee.
