North St. Louis (KSDK) - Fire gutted a multiple story structure in north St. Louis early Thursday in north St. Louis.

Firefighters responded to the fire call around 3:30 a.m. today at the vacant building on North Taylor between Maffitt and Kennerly Avenues.

Flames had already taken over the second and third floors of the building when firefighters arrived. Not long after efforts to put the blaze out, a significant portion of the building caved to the ground.

No injuries reported in the incident and the building appears to be a total loss.

A cause for the fire remains under investigation.
