St. Charles, MO (KSDK) - Starting on Friday, Missouri State Troopers will launch an operation to protect construction workers near the Blanchette Bridge.
The eight hour enforcement effort is called "Operation Protect." It's designed to keep the workers safe on the job.
The zero tolerance policy will ticket drivers on Interstate 70 for traffic violations, like speeding and following too close.
The operation is scheduled to end before the evening rush hour at 4 p.m.
Just a reminder, the westbound side of the Blanchette Bridge is currently closed.
On Sunday, the entire bridge will beshut down for blasting work. The bridge will be closed for about an hour starting at 10 a.m. Eastbound traffic will be rerouted onto Route 94 and Route 364.
