St. Louis (KSDK) -- The Salvation Army Tree of Lights Campaign is underway and the non-profit hopes to raise $6.5 million.
Major Jack Holloway told NewsChannel 5's Scott Connell most of the red kettles will be coming out next Friday, but some are already out.
The tree symbolizing the campaign will be lit as part of Macy's Festival of Lights in Kiener Plaza Friday. The event also includes Christmas carols and a special appearance by Santa Claus and The Rockettes.
The tree lighting will happen at 5:50 p.m., followed by fireworks.
