St. Louis (KSDK) - The holidays are officially underway in downtown St. Louis.

The Salvation Army Tree of Lights at Kiener Plaza was lit shortly before 6 pm. Friday. It's part of the annual Macy's Festival of Lights.

The tree lighting was followed by music and fireworks.

This year's tree is made of 300 scotch pines tied together to form one large tree.

Friday night marks the start of the Salvation Army's annual campaign.
