Rochester, NY (Sports Network) - Demitrius Conger scored 18 points, including the final five of the game, to lead the St. Bonaventure Bonnies to an 80-75 victory over the Niagara Purple Eagles at Blue Cross Arena.
Conger also grabbed 10 boards and dished out five assists for the Bonnies (3-1). He was joined in double figures by Chris Johnson who scored a team- high 19 points. Marquise Simmons and Eric Mosley chipped in 12 and 11 points, respectively, off the bench. Simmons' also grabbed a game-high 12 boards.
Antoine Mason led the way with 19 points for the Purple Eagles (2-3), including a game-tying 3-pointer before Conger put the game away. Ameen Tanksley chipped in 16 points and six boards. Juan'ya Green and T.J. Cline each scored 11.
Niagara led by as much as seven before taking a 33-32 lead into the locker room. Both teams scored 14 points in the paint during the first half.
The Bonnies led for the majority of the second half before Mason's 3-pointer tied the score at 75 apiece with 58 seconds remaining. After Conger knocked down two free throws, Cline turned the ball over to prevent any chance of a comeback.
The Bonnies, who shot 10-of-23 behind the three-point line, were sparked by their reserves which outscored Niagara's bench, 31-18.
