(@KSDKSports and Sportschatplace.com) -- The Arizona Cardinals are hoping some home cooking will cure their futile ways as they have dropped 6 straight decisions after opening the season 4-0 and have looked very underwhelming in doing so.

They host the St. Louis Rams who have been up and down so far this season and are coming off a home loss to the New York Jets in a game many pegged the Rams to win.

The St. Louis Rams are still in rebuilding mode and weren't very optimistic heading into the season in terms of their standing in the NFC West but they have played some inspired football at times this season and are very tough to gauge on a week to week basis.

Sam Bradford has had days where he warrants his first overall selection but will follow up much like he did against the Jets where he lays an egg and misfires on 21 passes which ultimately cost the Rams a victory.

Bradford will need to be sharper here but against a Cardinals secondary who has been among the best in the NFL this season it could be another long outing for Bradford and the Rams passing game and could call for a huge game from Steven Jackson and Daryl Richardson on the ground.

The Rams will be looking for the season sweep over the Cards as they dealt Arizona their first loss of the season in week 5 behind a defensive effort like none other that eventually led to the injury of Cardinals quarterback Kevin Kolb.

However, Bradford was awful in that game and he will need to rebound here if the Rams want a shot at pulling off the sweep.

Arizona has taken a huge hit in the last 6 weeks as they have fallen from a division leader to a division doormat and can slip even further down the ladder if they drop their 7 th in a row at home to the Rams.

The Cardinals got off to a very quick start against the NFC leading Falcons last week and if not for a premature decision to pull starting quarterback John Skelton in favour of rookie Ryan Lindley than the result could have been more favourable for the Cards who were playing their best football in 5 weeks.

Arizona ultimately dropped the decision in Atlanta as they couldn't get anything going offensively and didn't have enough in the tank defensively to stop the Falcons high octane offense. Heading back home however the Cards have the opportunity to put an end to the streak and after managing just 3 points against the Rams in the first meeting I expect the Cardinals offense to rebound and play much better than they have of late.

The game against the Jets was a season definer for me for St. Louis and they came up short. I have no confidence in Bradford and while Skelton isn't much better I like the Cards defense a lot more and I think they get retribution and cover the modest spread.
