MARYLAND HEIGHTS, Mo. (KSDK) - Emergency crews are on the scene of an apartment fire in Maryland Heights.

The fire started in a kitchen of a third floor unit at the Camden Trace Apartments.

At one point, it looked like some people were about to jump from the third floor, but they were able to escape the building without jumping, and at this point, there are no reports of injuries.

People living in six units have been forced from their homes.

The Red Cross is on the scene helping the victims.
