Troy, MO (KSDK) - The Lincoln County Grand Jury has indicted the driver of a vehicle involved in a crossover collision that claimed the life of a child, less than a month ago.

32 year old Randolph Scott James of Troy was formally indicted on involuntary manslaughter, assault, and careless and imprudent driving in connection to the November 21, 2012 crash that left nine year old David Simpson of Winfield dead.

Missouri Highway Patrol investigators say James pick-up truckcrossed the center line of Highway 47 and collided with the oncoming vehicle, where the child was a passenger with other family members.

Authorities sayJames has a history of drunk driving infractions as well as a variety of traffic violations over the past several years.

Jameswill return to court January 7, 2013 to enter a formal plea to the charges.
