They found The Voice.
"Season 3 has literally been the best season yet," said Carson Daly, who navigated us through superstar performances, tunes by season favorites and videos on Tuesday night's finale.
Some famous people, mostly paired with finalists:
Rihanna performed Diamonds, surrounded by LED "diamonds."
The Killers performed Here With Me, eventually joined by finalist Cassadee Pope.
Kelly Clarkson sang Catch My Breath with finalists Terry McDermott and Cassadee, who could actually keep up with America's original singing competition winner.
Smokey Robinson teamed up with finalist Nicholas David for Cruisin'. "That might be the coolest duet we've seen all year," said Carson.
Peter Frampton's voice meshed well with Terry's for Baby I Love Your Way.
Bruno Mars sang an emotional When I Was Your Man from his new album Unorthodox Jukebox.
Avril Lavigne appeared with her fan Cassadee for I'm With You.
Season 3 friends:
Terry brought back favorites Bryan Keith, Michaela Page, Amanda Brown and Rudy Parris for Rock and Roll All Nite.
Cuties Dez Duron, MacKenzie Bourg, Julio Cesar Castillo, Cody Belew and Diego Val hammed it up for Stacy's Mom.
Cassadee chose Melanie Martinez, Liz Davis and De'bora to sing It's Time by Imagine Dragons with her.
Powerhouses Adriana Louise, Sylvia Yacoub, Joselyn Rivera, Devyn Deloera and Loren Allred sang Best of My Love. Might we have a supergroup on our hands, One Direction-style? (The British boy band formed after competing on the British X Factor.)
Nicholas picked dream team Trevin Hunte, Dez Duran and Amanda Brown for Boyz II Men's End of the Road.
There were montages about each of the coaches, including birthday girl Christina Aguilera (who -- fun fact -- shares her special day with Cassadee's boyfriend, Ryan).
A cute Season 4 promo featured Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and new coaches Shakira and Usher (who will be replacing Christina and CeeLo Green this spring) singing Total Eclipse of the Heart in a truck together.
In the final Voice confessional, Terry joked that winning would be part of his first phase of a Scottish invasion of America.
Also of note:
"Saint CeeLo Green," dressed in a curly wig and white robe, helped deliver the news that the finalists won new KIA cars.
The coaches sang Green Day's Time of Your Life as the final performance of the night.
Then it was time for results.
In third? Soul man Nicholas.
That left the prize between rocker Terry and pop/rock girl with country twist Cassadee.
It was Cassadee Pope, Coach Blake's second winner in a row. Surprising no one.
"Thank you for everyone who voted for me," she said as Carson threw her a mike to sing Faith Hill's Cry as the credits quickly rolled.
