(KSDK Sports) -- The Saint Louis Billikens host the struggling Eastern Illinois Panthers in Wednesday action.

Eastern Illinois and their half court tactic were not enough to stop Toledo as the Rockets took a 67-59 decision. The Panthers offense was done in by 36% shooting while Toledo seldom missed with 59.1% from the field with a 6-14 mark from distance.

Better shooting proved to be the difference with most other categories fairly even. In the end, Eastern Illinois needed more scoring options with three double digit scorers but not much else.

Alex Austin pumped in a team best 21 points with six boards, with Josh Piper tossing in 17 points and grabbing five rebounds while Sherman Blanford chipped in with ten points and hauled down another seven pulls.

Saint Louis has been trying to win some games and get a full head of steam going in anticipation of conference play and everything has fallen in to place with a 73-51 win over Tennessee-Martin being their third straight victory.

The Billikens essentially put this out of reach with a 45-25 lead after 20 minutes in a bench clearing affair. Saint Louis held the Skyhawks to to 34% from the floor while hitting at a 46.3% clip and enjoying a 20-12 edge at the foul line.

SLU had just a pair of players surpass the ten point mark but nine of the eleven who saw the floor scored. Jordair Jett led the team with 17 points with Mike McCall adding 14 points while four players finished with eight points.
