Steven Borden became the Kentucky's first recruiting commitment under coach Mark Stoops when he signed to play for the Wildcats on Wednesday morning.
Borden, a 6-foot-4, 240-pound tight end for Kilgore College in Texas, is the son of Steve Borden, the famous professional wrestler better known as "Sting."
He chose the Cats over Texas Tech, where he had been recruited by new Kentucky offensive coordinator Neal Brown. After being hired last week, Brown began recruiting Borden to Lexington, and the Wildcats had him on an official visit.
Borden faxed a letter of intent to Kentucky on the first day junior-college players can sign with an NCAA Division I college.
He'll enroll there in January and be able to participate in spring practice. Borden has two years of eligibility remaining.
