St. Louis (KSDK)--Nothing short of a miracle.

That's what doctors and caregivers are saying about the determined dog known as Trooper.

The Pit Bull puppy was tied to a truck and unknowingly dragged down I-55 last month. Charges have been filed in the case, but no trial date has been set.

Trooper is now recovering at the Humane Society of Missouri. He had two additional surgeries on Saturday and he is a true survivor.

His future looks very bright and he's developed a team of admirers and supporters from around the world. He's getting cards and treats from as far away as Afghanistan and Australia. He also has his own Facebook page with more than 12,000 followers.

The Humane Society has received at least 1,000 inquiries about adopting Trooper. It will be at least another four to six weeks before he's available for adoption because he's still healing and gaining his strength and endurance.
