South St. Louis (KSDK) - St. Louis Police are investigating an accident in south St. Louis overnight that sent one person to the hospital after they were rescued from the wreckage of the car they were a passenger in.

The circumstances of the crash remain under investigation.

Police responded to the location on South Broadway at Gratiot around 2:30 a.m. today and saw what appeared to have been a T-bone collision, although a second vehicle was not located at the crash scene.

The driver of the vehicle that was struck was not injured. The passenger was freed after firefighters cut the door from the car involved.

No names have been released.
