PALM BAY, Fl. (WKMG) - A Florida woman says she owes her life to her dog. The always-gentle Jack Russell terrier turned into a crime fighter when confronted with a couple of robbers.

Sixty-two-year-old Barbara Boos said she was too scared to show her face on camera after two gunmen stormed through her front door, pulled her by the hair and threw her to the floor.

"He said, 'I'm gonna kill ya if you don't...give me your money. Where's your money?'" she said.

Boos said before her husband could get off the couch, her eight-month-old Jack Russell terrier, Petey, came to the rescue, running like lightening from the other side of the house.

"And he was jumping up and down on that guy's face. I don't know if he was trying to bite his face or whatever," Boos said.

Petey then went for one of the crook's ankles, and just like that, the two gunmen ran away. Police said the two men remain on the loose.

"I can't believe they were even scared of him," Boos said.

Petey's owner said she never expected her normally sweet and friendly dog would save her life. She hopes police catch the crooks before they attack again.

Boos said she did not get a good look at the faces of the men responsible for the home invasion. And police said they have not made any arrests in the case.
