ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - Police are getting several new leads in the murder of Ebony Jackson, the mother of an abandoned baby found in north St. Louis County last Friday.

Days after the baby was found unharmed, Jackson's body was found in the trunk of her car.

Police say they're using that data from the GPS in that car to trace its path and investigators are in the process of getting Jackson's cell phone records.

NewsChannel 5 has been in touch with family and friends throughout the investigation. They say they're confident the killer will be found but they are asking for help.

"We're careful. We're confident that justice will be served. Somewhere, someone knows something. We're prying they will come forward. We don't want them to put their lives in danger," said Jackson's friend, Linda Lawson.

The man claiming to be the father of the baby traveled to St. Louis from his home in Oklahoma to take a paternity test earlier this week. The results of the paternity test are expected to be released Thursday.
