ST. LOUIS COUNTY (KSDK) - An explosion happened in a vacant St. Louis County home Thursday morning.

St. Louis County police responded to the 11000 block of Bristol Rock Road around 10:20 a.m.

Neighbors say the windows in the back of the home were blown out and there was an odor of gas in the area.

Laclede Gas came out to investigate the odor, and neighbors were temporarily evacuated.

No one was injured.

Ken Corbin, Assistant Chief of Black Jack, says copper pipes had been stolen from the basement of the home, which caused an explosion and small fire.
