ST. LOUIS COUNTY (KSDK) - The Parkway School District plans to cut an additional $2 to $4 million from its budget over the next two years.

These cuts come after the district trimmed $8 million from the budget last year due to the poor economy.

The cuts would begin in the 2013-2014 school year and would come from 40 positions eliminated through attrition.

In November, a district-wide committee representing all major employee groups met to decide where the cuts should be made, with the goal of ensuring classroom staffing.

Parkway staff, parents, and community members are invited to attend any of four meetings that will review the draft budget plan. After adjustments are made, the administration plans to present the final budget plan to the school board in February.

Budget meetings:
January 14, North High School
January 24, West High School
January 28, South High School
January 31, Central High School
