ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KSDK) - It is a street where many great ideas are discussed over drinks, but in this building on Washington Avenue, a building that sat empty collecting dust, desks have been moved in with the hope that some of those great ideas will follow.

"So what we've created is really what we want to be an entrepreneurial center," said Jan Andersen, one of the guys behind Lab 1500 Entrepreneur Center.

It is a place for people to not only plug in, but to connect with other innovative thinkers.

"I think that's really one of the greatest benefits to the place here is the connections you're going to be making with people who've done it before, someone who may have some great input or a contact who can really help you drive an idea forward," Andersen said.

There is classroom space for workshops and speakers, white boards to sort out the basics and more than enough space to bounce ideas.

Of course it also allows entrepreneurs to see a different set of walls.

"It's awesome to finally be out of my living room," said Greg Cooper, a young entrepreneur.

And hopefully creativity breeds creativity.

"Being part of a community of other vibrant thinkers and doers, all these creative and innovative projects it's going to be a whole game changer for our company," Cooper said.

So you may not see test tubes and microscopes, but Lab 1500 is mixing up an interesting opportunity for the St. Louisans.

"I think it's going to really benefit the overall entrepreneurial community here in st. Louis," Andersen said.

To set up shop at Lab 1500 requires a membership fee. It's $75 per month or $800 for the year, but you're welcome to stop by anytime and check it out. Lab 1500 Entrepreneurial Center is located at 1500 Washington Avenue.
