UNIVERSITY CITY, Mo. (KSDK) - University City school leaders are moving ahead with some security upgrades that were in the works before the Newtown, Conn. school shootings.

Thursday evening district officials updated parents and staff on the changes during the school board meeting.

The district plans to add more security cameras to school buildings.

There are also plans to make the doors more secure at the high school and at Brittany Woods Elementary.
