ST. LOUIS COUNTY (KSDK) - Police say multiple handguns and rifles were found at Hazelwood East High school today, but they didn't belong to a student, they belonged to an employee.

Police say the guns belonged to a custodian who had left the weapons in his car.

It is illegal to have weapons on the school's campus.

He was taken away in cuffs in this parking lot about 3 p.m. Thursday.

Officers also found drug paraphernalia.
