Fullerton, CA (Sports Network) - Chris McNealy came off the bench to scored a season-high 21 points as the UC Irvine Anteaters made easy work of the Cal State Fullerton Titans, 92-65, in a Big West Conference bout at Titan Gym.
McNealy shot 5-of-8 from 3-point range and also tallied six assists and five rebounds for UCI (10-9, 4-2 Big West), which captured its third straight win. Daman Starring added 16 points and six assists, while Michael Wilder (12 points, eight rebounds) and Will Davis II (11 points, nine rebounds, six blocks) were both strong in the frontcourt.
For Fullerton (10-7, 3-2), Kwame Vaughn scored 15 points, Sammy Yeager had 12 points, Alex Harris netted 11 points, and Deuce Johnson finished with 10 points. The loss for the Titans snapped a three-game winning streak.
UCI opened up a comfortable 42-25 lead at halftime by outshooting Fullerton from the field in the opening 20 minutes, 51.5 percent to 31 percent. The Anteaters drained five 3-pointers in the first half, while the Titans went without a trey on seven attempts.
The Anteaters' field goal percentage improved to .621 after intermission as they cruised to the victory.
UCI finished the game 12-of-27 from 3-point range, and it outrebounded Fullerton by a 41-25 margin.
