NORTH CENTRAL PROVINCE, Sri Lanka (SLRC/CNN) - The construction work of Ritigala Elephant orphanage in North Central Province, Sri Lanka has been expedited. This is the second elephant orphanage to come in the Sri Lanka .

Baby elephants found in the jungles without their mother's care will be adopted at the orphanage.

The construction work of the elephant orphanage has come to a standstill due to the heavy rain and flooding that lashed several parts of the country last two weeks.

The reconstruction of inter reservoirs, roads and ticket counter are currently being constructed.

Two baby elephants are being currently housed at this location. Forty-four liters of milk is needed to feed to these two baby elephants.
