(KSDK Sports) -- The Blues and Red Wings will drop the puck Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Scottrade Center. As you all know, the season is short, 48 games, which means there will be no time for any to start off slow out of the gate.

That means for the Blues to succeed, they will need to generate offense, and lot's of it. Two years ago, scoring goals was not a problem for Blues' Chris Stewart who netted 28 goals during the 2010-2011 season. But last year Stewart had a noticable drop off in goal production.

Stewart may not be the best player on the Blues' roster but he may be the most important. One day, he's going to realize his enormous potential, and the Blues are hoping that day is now.
