(CNN) - The personal photos in the video above are part of a massive auction of President John F. Kennedy memorabilia.

The collection comes from the estate of Kennedy's longtime friend and special assistant David Powers.

Powers' family discovered the memorabilia last year as they prepared to sell the family home.

The items include letters and gifts Powers received over the years, plus an Air Force 1 bomber jacket that belonged to Kennedy.

The auction will be held Sunday, February 17th, in Amesbury, Massachusetts.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of Kennedy's assassination.
