Williamsburg, VA (Sports Network) - Tim Rusthoven put together a double-double performance with 14 points and 10 rebounds as the William & Mary Tribe defeated the Towson Tigers, 63-56, in Colonial Athletic Association action at Kaplan Arena.
Rusthoven led all players in rebounding as the Tribe (8-11, 2-6 CAA) saw its eight game losing streak come to an end. Marcus Thornton was the game's high scorer with 16 points and six rebounds while Kyle Gaillard added 14 points on 7-of-11 shooting. Brandon Britt managed 12 minutes off the bench.
For Towson (10-12, 5-4), Marcus Damas scored 13 points with seven rebounds as the Tigers lost their third game in a row. Jerrelle Benimon scored 12 points and Jerome Hairston added 11.
Towson took a 30-29 lead into the break after shooting 48.0 percent from the field in the first half.
William & Mary shot 50.0 percent from the floor in the second half as the squad outscored the Tigers 34-26.
The Tribe took advantage of all opportunities and scored 17 points off 11 turnovers committed by Towson while allowing only four points off its eight turnovers.
