(KSDK Sports) -- No rest for the winners. The St. Louis Blues, fresh off Saturday's win over the Dallas Stars return home Sunday to face a Minnesota Wild team that is improving but coming off a flat performance in which they lost to the Red Wings.

The Blues goaltending tandem is probably the best in the NHL and after Jaroslav Halak got his second straight win last night it looks like Brian Elliott will get the nod at home against the Wild.

The Wild made two big offseason splashes acquiring Ryan Suter and Zach Pariseand now face one of the best in the West as the Blues have been coasting through the early part of their schedule.

St. Louis had a spectacular season a year ago and with a lengthy offseason the Blues have had plenty of time to develop, making them a favorite in the Western Conference and for good reason. The Blues are one of the deepest teams in the league as they have top end talent at every position.

The Blues held off a pesky Stars team last night with a backup goaltender in and will look to make a push and keep pace in the division with the Blackhawks but spending the night travelling and taking on a rested Wild team coming off an atrocious effort against the Wings might be tough to overcome.

With the Blues playing in a back to back after giving up three goals last night and playing against a defensive oriented team they will look to win the battles in the neutral zone and focus their efforts more in the defensive zone.
