CLAYTON, Mo. (KSDK) - Officers with the Clayton Police Department were called to Fontbonne University Friday morning as a precautionary measure over a voicemail left by a disgruntled student at the financial aid office.

According to a spokeswoman at Fontbonne University, a female student came to the financial aid office Thursday in Ryan Hall and had to be escorted off campus by university police. That student called back afterwards and left what's been described as an "unpleasant voicemail" at the office.

The financial aid department notified campus security. That student was not found on campus.

On Friday morning, someone alerted the Clayton Police Department, who responded to Fontbonne around 10 a.m. After checking the school, police left by 10:45 a.m.

Despite reports by other media outlets earlier in the day, the university spokeswoman said there was never a campus threat.
