COLLINSVILLE, Ill. (KSDK) - The Madison County State's Attorney's Office charged a 32-year-old Collinsville man Friday for alleged residential burglary.

According to Captain T. Mike Dixon, chief of detectives for the Madison County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to the 3200 block of Fairmont Avenue just after 7:40 p.m. on Monday, January 28 for a burglary.

The homeowner met with deputies and said an unknown number of people forced their way into the home during daytime hours when no one was present and stole jewelry, coins, an antique American Indian stone pipe and "Depression Glass" serving dishes.

Investigators identified William Parks as a suspect to the burglary and arrested him on Wednesday, January 30. Authorities recovered approximately $3,100 worth of jewelry taken during the burglary.

William Parks remains in custody at Madison County Jail on $100,000 bond.
