JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KSDK) - The Missouri Department of Natural Resources issued an order Friday to Republic Service Inc., the owner of Bridgeton Sanitary Landfill.

The order states the department will start collecting air quality data at the landfill and the company will pay for the cost of the data collection, which should be done without interference.

The contractors will report directly to the Department of Natural Resources and use equipment that detects gas to assess the air quality conditions.

The system, AreaRAE, has a wireless frequency modem that will allow remote data transmissions.
