Boston, MA (Sports Network) - Wesley Saunders scored 18 points and Siyani Chambers had a double-double as the Harvard Crimson held on for an 89-82 double overtime victory against the Brown Bears in Ivy League action at Lavietes Pavilion.
Chambers had 17 points and 10 rebounds and Laurent Rivard and Christian Webster each put in 16 points for Harvard (12-6, 4-0 Ivy League) which has won five of its last six.
Sean McGonagaill scored 20 points to go with eight assists, Matt Sullivan chipped in 18 points and Rafael Maia and Stephen Albrecht each had 12 points for Brown (8-10, 2-2) which had won four of its previous five.
Harvard shot 65.4 percent from the floor and knocked down five triples to take a commanding 49-36 lead at halftime.
The tables turned in the second half when Brown shot 52.6 percent while Harvard managed just seven field goals. With the Bears trailing, 69-67, with a second left McGonagill hit a shot at the buzzer to force overtime.
In the extra period Harvard yet again led, 78-75, in the closing seconds but Albrecht nailed a 3-pointer with 20 seconds left to keep the game going.
In the final overtime Harvard scored the first five points and held on to win by hitting 4-of-5 free throw attempts in the period.
