Malibu, CA (Sports Network) - Cole Dickerson recorded a double-double with a game-high 27 points as the San Francisco Dons defeated the Pepperdine Waves, 86-78, in West Coast Conference play at Firestone Fieldhouse.
Dickerson recorded a team-high 11 rebounds in the Dons' (10-13, 3-7 WCC) victory. Cody Doolin was two assists shy of a double-double with 13 points and Avry Holmes added 15 points off the bench as San Francisco snapped a two-game losing streak.
For the Waves (10-12, 2-7), Stacy Davis recorded a double-double with 18 points and 15 rebounds off the bench. Lorne Jackson contributed a team-high 20 points and seven boards. Nikolas Skouen added 13 points, while Jordan Baker and Jett Raines chipped in 10 points a piece as San Francisco fell for the third straight game.
Both teams shot well in the first half, but Pepperdine made 56.7 percent from the floor including 3-of-4 from beyond the arc. It also dominated the boards 21-10, en route to a 42-35 advantage at the break.
San Francisco made 58.1 percent from the floor including 8-of-12 from beyond the arc, while holding Pepperdine to a mere 3-of-11 3-pointers in the second half. The Dons outscored the Waves 51-36 in the second half to pull out the eight-point victory.
