Rochester, MI (Sports Network) - Travis Bader delivered a team-best 31 points, leading four players in double figures, as the Oakland Golden Grizzlies posted an 88-83 win over the Jackrabbits of South Dakota State in a Summit League showdown at the O'rena.
Bader, one of the nation's scoring leaders with 21.8 ppg heading into the weekend, knocked down 9-of-16 shots behind the 3-point line for the Golden Grizzlies (13-13, 8-4 Summit) as they logged their fifth straight win. Duke Mondy added 26 points, six rebounds, six assists and four steals, followed by Drew Valentine and Dante Williams with 12 and 10 points, respectively.
The Jackrabbits (19-7, 10-3) were led by Nate Wolters who delivered a game- high 36 points, as well as seven assists and six boards as he shot 12-of-20 from the floor, just days after putting up 53 points against IUPU-Ft Wayne. Chad White produced 21 points, Brayden Carlson 11 points, Tony Fiegen 10 points and seven boards, while Jordan Dykstra contributed 11 rebounds as the team had an eight-game win streak come to an end.
The first half experienced four ties and 14 lead changes, but even with Oakland converting 9-of-18 behind the 3-point line in the period the host still trailed by four points at the break, 42-38.
In the second half the Grizzlies made good on close to 60 percent from the field and again shot the ball well on the perimeter (7-of-12) as they grabbed the high-scoring victory.
Oakland turned the ball over just four times as it shot 16-of-30 beyond the arc.
