(KSDK Sports) --Here isthe understatement of young butever shortening NHL season, the St. Louis Blues have goaltending issues. The team that set the franchise record for shutouts last seasonyear with 15 has now given up 22 goals in the last four games.
That is why this is good news. Very good news.
Jaroslav Halak has been activated. He had been suffering from a lower body injury, and you can bet the mortgage that Halak will get the start Monday night when the Blues take on the Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings.
To make room on the roster, the Blues sent goalie Jake Allen back to Peoria.
Halak was acquired to a starting goaltender, not split time. He won't split time if he performs the way the Blues need him to. And they need him too, because the other half of the Blues dynamic goaltending duo needs a break.
Something has gone wrong for Brian Elliott. The Anaheim Ducks feasted on Elliott Saturday night. He did not look like the same goaltender who set an NHL record for high single season save percentage, not to mention the lowest goals against average.
