Iowa City, IA (Sports Network) - Aaron White and Roy Devyn Marble both scored 15 points as the Iowa Hawkeyes made easy work of the Minnesota Golden Gophers, 72-51, in a Big Ten Conference bout at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

Mike Gesell added 11 points and four steals for Iowa (17-9, 6-7 Big Ten), while Zach McCabe and Eric May netted 10 points apiece from off the bench. The Hawkeyes are now winners of three straight games for the first time since conference play began.

For Minnesota (18-8, 6-7), Austin Hollins had 14 points and Trevor Mbakwe tallied 13 points and six rebounds. The Gophers continue to slip in the Big Ten standings, as they have lost seven of their last 10 contests.

Minnesota began the game with the hot hand, getting out to a 21-5 lead in the first seven minutes, but Iowa finished the first half on a 29-8 run to take a 34-29 lead into intermission.

The Hawkeyes kept that momentum rolling in the second half, as they shot greater than 61 percent from the floor after the break to cruise to the 21- point victory.

Iowa shot 25-of-31 from the foul line on the afternoon, while Minnesota was just 14-of-23 from the stripe. The Gophers also committed 17 turnovers, which turned into 15 Iowa points.
