Leadwood, MO (KSDK) - It was two years ago that a truck driver was shot and killed while making a delivery in East St. Louis on February 17, 2011. And sense then there has been no arrest for his murder and no peace for his parents.

The father of three and 40 year-old truck driver Truman Lee Smith was making the delivery just before dawn near 26th and McCasland when police say he was shot and killed for the change in his pockets.

A stranger came to his aid, called police and Truman was able to give police a description of his attacker before he passed away. A security camera caught an image of the person police believe is responsible but they say the video isn't clear enough to identify anyone.

Smith's parents a confident someone knows something and hopes someone will come forward with information about their son's death.

"We're still going to hurt as bad, we're still going to miss him every day," says Jeanette Smith. "But it would give us peace of mind knowing the right guy is behind bars and he's not out there doing this to another family."
Smith's mother says she talks to the detective handling her son's case every month and she says she will continue to do so until the case is solved.

Illinois State Police is asking for help through Crime Stoppers at 866-371-TIPS.
