TAMPA, Fla. (WTSP) - Crews are battling a massive fire which broke out at a recycling plant on Port Sutton Road in Tampa.
Hillsborough County Fire Rescue says a pile of recycled metal went up in flames just after 4 a.m. Monday.
Multiple ladder trucks are on the scene right now, and bulldozers are being brought in to work on separating the pile. Crews have set up a line around the pile, and are keeping a close eye on containers filled with chemicals nearby.
We're told they are far enough from the fire that there should be no risk of the tankers going up in flames.
The fire could continue burning for hours.
