ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - The City of St. Louis has announced they will open the Cold Weather Overflow shelter for the sixth time this winter season.
The shelter will open Tuesday night in the extra space at 12th and Park Rec Center. The shelter allows homeless men, women, and children when other shelters are full.
There are 75 beds in the shelter, but Maggie Crane, spokesperson for Mayor Francis Slay, says nobody will be turned away.
Close to 350 people have already used the shelter this season. It is part of a project supported by the American Red Cross, Salvation Army, and the St. Louis Crisis Nursery.
