TOWN AND COUNTRY, Mo. (KSDK) - Christian Brothers College High School has announced Bob McCormack, varsity basketball coach, will not coach next year.

McCormack is also a physical education teacher at the school, and will remain on the school's instructional staff.

Dr. A.G. "Rocky" Streb, CBC Athletic Director, says the school has notified McCormack they will not renew his coaching contract.

Streb says there are no immediate plans to name a new varsity coach. Instead, they will form a search committee, comprised of major stakeholders, to search for the next head coach.

"Whether that process takes two weeks or several weeks is not known at this time," Dr. Streb said. "We are still in the process of forming that committee. We will ask that group to find the best possible candidates for this position. We are in no rush to merely fill the position. We want to ensure we are able to find the right coach for our program."

McCormack coached the CBC Cadets for 17 years.

The school did not give a reason for not renewing his coaching contract.
