ST. LOUIS COUNTY,Mo. (KSDK) - Firefighters spent hours at a scene of a three-alarm fire in west St. Louis County. The firewas at the Oak Forest Apartments, located near the intersection of North Lindbergh Boulevard and Page Avenue.

The fire started around 2:30 a.m. in a building that has 12apartments. Two people, including one firefighter were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, and soon released.

Residents and fire officials are telling NewsChannel 5 that it appears the fire started inside a second floor apartment, where a man fell asleepwith a lit cigarette.

At least three apartments were heavily damaged.The displaced residents kept warm inside the complex's club house and a Metro Buswas brought in to be used as a warming center. The Red Cross is also assisting.
