JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KSDK) - A St. Louis City jury found a 44-year-old man to be a sexually violent predator, according to Attorney General Chris Koster.
James Arthur Gardner has been committed to the Sex Offender Rehabilitation and Treatment Service in Farmington.
Gardner had previously served time in prison after being sentenced to 10 years for sodomizing a 7-year-old boy. He had previously been convicted of sexually abusing a 3-year-old girl.
Those committed by the court as sexually violent predators go into the custody of the Missouri Department of Mental Health. They have the right to have their cases reviewed annually to determine whether their mental condition has changed and their risk to commit further acts of sexual violence has lessened.
