ROME (CNN) - Pope Francis is celebrating one of the most important days on the Christian calendar, Good Friday, at one of the most famous landmarks on Earth.
The Pontiff led a candlelit procession around the Colosseum, for the Way of the Cross ceremony.
The ceremony retraces the steps of Jesus carrying the cross to his crucifixion.
