HARTFORD, Ill. (KSDK) - The search for two men who fell into the Mississippi River after their boat capsized has been suspended until Tuesday morning.

Emergency crews were called to the area shortly after 1:30 p.m. Saturday after a barge crew pulled a 10-year-old boy out of the river. He was conscious and alert and taken to an area hospital to be checked out.

Rescue crews conducted a search and rescue operation to find the two men the boy was with, but it was discontinued around 6 p.m. Saturday.

The search resumed at 8 a.m. Sunday with the Roxana Fire Department and South Roxana Fire Departments assisting the Hartford Fire Department.

Alton Fire Department Marine 1 and the Department of Natural Resources' Conservation police also helped in the search using three Marine Sonic Sonar boats and called in Team Watters Sonar and the Hillsboro Fire Department.

The search on Sunday was postponed at Sunday and resumed Monday at 8 a.m.

Sonar continued to be used Monday, but the two men were not found.

The search will resume Tuesday at 9 a.m. It was suspended around 3 p.m.

The names of the men have not been released.
