ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - Since Monday's bombings, we've been checking in with organizers of large-scale events here in the bi-state.
One of those is the St. Louis affiliate of Komen for the Cure, which is in just two months.
Sharon Korn, this year's race co-chair joined NewsChannel 5 at 6 p.m. to talk about if the Boston Marathon bombings will change the security plan.

Komen St. Louis also released the following statement about the bombings:
"We are deeply saddened about the tragic events at the Boston Marathon and send our condolences to the families of those who were affected. The safety of our Susan G. Komen St. Louis Race for the Cure participants, volunteers, spectators and all involved with the event is our top priority. We work closely with the City of St. Louis and local law and safety officials on security issues at our Race, and we will be guided by their recommendations. We will continue to carefully examine all aspects of our Race operations so our 15th Komen St. Louis Race is as safe and pleasant an event as our previous 14 Race events."
