LINCOLN COUNTY, Mo. (KSDK) - Water from the Mississippi River has started to top the levee east of Foley, Mo.

Barry Nuss, fire marshal and public information officer for the Lincoln County Fire Protection District #1, says there is not currently any water in the town of Foley, but they have assigned 20 prisoners in state custody to help sandbag.

Nuss says sand and sandbags are available for residents in Winfield, Foley, and Old Monroe. At this time volunteers are not needed.

All levees in Lincoln County are intact and have not been breached. The river is expected to crest Tuesday morning at 35.4 feet.
