ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - A Soldan International Studies High School teacher is accused of having sex with a student.

According to the probable cause statement, David Allen Marler, 32, was charged with five counts of second-degree sodomy, five counts of sexual contact with a student, endangering the welfare of a child in the first-degree. The student is under the age of 17.

The student told police they performed oral sex on each other and engaged in various sexual acts on April 21 near the school, but not on the school's property.

Marler is also accused of giving the student an inhalant that caused the student to become dizzy and lightheaded.

ASaint Louis Public School District spokesperson said the teacher was immediately placed on leave when the allegations surfaced.

Marer was jailed on a $250,000 cash-only bond.

Detectives are investigating the possibility that others may have been victimized by Marler. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department's Child Abuse Unit at 314-444-5385.

2005-2009: Compton Drew Middle School
2009: Fanning Middle School
2010: Buche International Studies Middle School
2011: Fanning Middle School
2012 Soldan International Studies High School
