CASEYVILLE, Ill. (KSDK) - A Caseyville, Ill. man has been charged after allegedly scamming someone out of money for roof repairs.

Caseyville police say they were called to the 2800 block of Progress Avenue August 20, 2012 for a report of home repair fraud.

The victim told police a payment of $4,500 had been made to Joshua R. McLafferty for roof repairs.

After several months, the victim says McLafferty had not made repairs and disconnected his phone number.

McLafferty was charged Wednesday with theft by deception, a class 3 felony.

Bond is set at $50,000.
