MADISON, Wis. (AP) - Madison police have arrested an Illinois fugitive who was the subject of a daylong manhunt in south-central Wisconsin.

Police say a SWAT team arrested 33-year-old Paris Poe of Chicago in a vehicle on a highway on the east side of Madison Thursday evening.

Poe did not resist arrest. No one was hurt.

Police Lt. Cory Nelson says Poe had shaved his head to change his appearance. He also was traveling with a woman.

Nelson says police performed a "high-risk traffic stop" by pointing weapons at the vehicle and ordering Poe out of the car.

Poe was wanted for questioning in a federal murder investigation. He was spotted at a hotel in Madison Thursday, prompting authorities to swarm the area. The manhunt prompted several schools to lock down for several hours.
