ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - The head of the Saint Louis University Board of Trustees says the search to replace embattled President Fr. Lawrence Biondi will be a deliberate, thoughtful process.

In an interview with education reporter Sharon Stevens, board President Joe Adorjan, said the uproar involving Fr. Biondi should have been handled better by all involved, including himself.

Fr. Biondiannounced his retirement at a dinner last week.

Adorjan says the search process will include faculty, students, educators from other schools, and will be open to all qualified candidates.

He says Fr. Biondi was not "pushed out" of his job because of faculty and student opposition. He says Biondi will be assisting with the selection process.
