PERCY, Ill. (KSDK) - Four children died in a house fire in Percy, Illinois, according to the Randolph County Coroner's Office.

Illinois State Police said the fire happened in the 800 block of West Almond Street around 2 a.m.

Percy, Illinois is located in Randolph County, about 70 miles southeast of St. Louis.

Matt Owen, the father of the children, his wife and a family cousin made it out of the house. The four children, who were on the second floor of the home, perished in the blaze. The children were identified 5-year-olds Brandon and Landan, 12-year-old Ethan and 9-year-old Kaliey.

Police are speaking to a person of interest about the fire.

Percy Mayor Mark Prange and Assembly of God Pastor Steve Duncan set up a fund to help the Owen family. The fund is at First National bank of Steeleville where donations can be made in care of the Owen family benefit fund.
